Part Of A Memorable Occasion Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Part Of A Memorable Occasion

Of all the things that’ve happened,
This past year for all of us,
I’m giving you a Memento,
And to keep it alive in your memory is a must.

In January last, In Nottingham,
A Presentation did take place
Of two poems to the Lord Mayor,
And in his Parlour they will forever be placed.

Your Birthday Gift, Davina,
Although yet another poem ~ it’s O.K.,
Together with the Poems, Photos and Mementos,
Recording that Memorable Day.

When you sat in the Council Chamber,
In the Lord Mayor’s Chair,
With pupils from Lenton Sands School,
And your Mother and I were, too, there.

So, on the Twenty-third of November,
In the year Two Thousand and Six,
Have a Happy Birthday, Davina,
And may the Memories of this Year, be fixed.
