Pastel And Charcoal On White Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Pastel And Charcoal On White

Take a gander, he said, at those angels all buff!
See watercolors light up those steroids
from wings up - note brawny arms reach down
to retrieve little lambs frolicking in the rough!

Gaze with awe at the gray-bearded prophet
sitting astride the bough as seraphs and angels
glide by nodding and pointing toward the skies
where the heavenly choir sits in glory!

Blake said, 'Every thing possible to be believed
is an image of the truth! ' He saw the heavens,
the chain that links one and all in eternal rounds,
and the fireside burning malign and bright!
