Writers use their imagination
so when I create a character
in a poem or a story
that character may be an innocent child
or a hard-boiled private eye
neither of which I am

Keep in mind
that poems on this site
or anywhere else
do not necessarily
tell the reader
anything about
a writer at all
except that
he has imagined
and created
a verbal picture
of someone or something
in this world
or in alternate universes!
