Pastor Simon Poem by SylvaOnyema (SUPER.T) Ubah

Pastor Simon

Rating: 5.0

Sanctimonious objects
Like a trailer of corrugated iron sheets
Surround this Temple deity

Money bags voices
Singing-
Half-familiar, half- strange chorus

Pastor Simon zooms out
From his exotic glamorous car

And like lizards
Worshipers bow their heads down, up, down, up! ! !

They file out like soldier ants
To offer baskets full of Naira and Dollars

Clothed in lust
They file back to their seats

Suddenly, just suddenly
In a night of office vigil

Like one possessed
With the spirit of 'Ogbanje'

She grabbed Pastor Simon
For miracles! miracles! ! and miracles! ! !

Clothes dangling loose
In the waste for cover

And that Sunday night with Pastor Simon
Black Angels answered her prayers

Pastor Simon smilingly put in her womb
A new family Apostles
