Pastor Stanley's Words Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Pastor Stanley's Words

The devil laughs at prayers we say,
And church doors opened, day by day.
He sees the Bible on the shelf,
And thinks he's won, for himself.

Pastor Stanley spoke a truth,
A warning clear, for age and youth.
He said the devil doesn't fear
The easy ways we hold Him near.

He's not scared of just a glance,
Or holy words in a passing trance.
He's not scared of owning books,
Or knowing all the churchly looks.

But when the Word truly sinks in,
And understanding can begin,
When God's deep truth becomes your own,
That's when a strong defense is sown.

A wall of mind, a solid place,
Where lies can find no dwelling space.
Not just to own, but to know,
So seeds of doubt can never grow.
