Patterns Poem by Daniel Reurink

Patterns

sleep awake sleep awake
patterns recycled
from the days of old
which is what
and when is where

a constant state of deja vu
has this also
been felt once before?
a time now in sleep
resting awoken

but still in another land
vivid yet dreamlike
fly away mockingbird, your
kind is not constant here

time en-capsuled into
fragments of unconsciousness

could then
unconsciously
be conscious of you?

When will I awake?
