Pawned Soul Poem by James Walter Orr

Pawned Soul

The sun lights your sorrow
each day with its rising,
all thoughts of tomorrow
just leave you despising
every minute that flees
in the new day that dawned.

The darkness obscures you
each night with the sunset;
brings nightmares you will view,
that never you'll forget,
soon your teardrops will freeze
on the soul that you pawned.
