Pay With Space Poem by Jane Sparkes

Pay With Space

An empty space between us
Because of a mistake of mine
Is a gap that I now yearn to fill
With our bodies intertwined

Is it now to late though
Years past and chances lost
I didn't make the move I should
Now I'm counting dear, the cost

Honey tell me something
You used to feel to much
For me, now I know I need
Those loving arms to touch

Did the years make you sour
Or did you just exhaust
The love I thought you felt for me
Or was I mistaken most?

Darling its our time now
To live our feelings through
There's nothing that I've ever felt
That is what's between us two
