Peace Poem by Michael Crawford

Peace

The day is young and so here I sit
I notice in the corner, the candle is half lit
I know I have many things to do
I ask myself who do I call, just who

It's ok not to be busy all the time
Maybe just listen outside, just listen outside to your wind chime
It is good to be free of tasks, this is for sure
To reduce inner stress and have inner peace, is the cure

A trip to Rome is what I plan to do
Then I can feel good and great, so new
At the moment, The Northwest feels so warm today
Sitting here in my chair by the fire keeps my thoughts at bay

I know we all have and need moments of peace
Everything inside you will surely decrease
I hear faintly the sound of my favorite song
I am so happy I chose a song so long

Last night, my friend calls me which is so right
Stressed because she missed her long overseas flight
I told her to try and achieve inner peace
Our hearts and bodies are only on a lease

She told me in length how much she loves me so
I said keep thinking about us and you will never go
Love is so good, we can't live without
You made me so happy by saying you will never back out

An hour has passed and I feel so good
Because everything we said we can do, we could and should
So today is a day of peace and to relax
If the dam ever begins to break, I will fill the cracks
