Peaceful Sleep. Poem by Ritika Abrol

Peaceful Sleep.

Rating: 5.0

I stand so near, I cannot see
Differences 'tween the sea and me
I shed 'ts brine, it my tears
It happens so, I stand so near

Lashing against my ankles deep
'ts watery mane tipped with ivory
It tries to take back in it own self
As in half embrace, in it I delve

I whisper to it aglow with stars
Bare my heart, show all it's scars
And say 'ts okay to loved not be
It's overrated, peaceful sleep

I then let it have 'ts say
Before from it I break away
And it implores me to just see
Mean scars, I've begun to heal

But I cannot but feel I've not
'ts too hard to be loved not
I then let it from my palm seep
Tell myself the scars too deep

Ashore it shall not return, I know
'ts gone too far for me to go
And obtain it to hide and keep
My little bit of peaceful sleep

Lovely poetry. Your way of expressing thought is what I admire.
