Pearl Jam Poem by Dean du Preez

Pearl Jam

America America
Prisoner Prisoner
America America
Dissin him Dissin her

America circus round and round
London eye dollar and pound
Save me Seattle, save me New York
Washington DC-you fail to work

I'm counting the stars-
above me
I'm counting the stripes-
I'm bleeding
I see the colors-
right through you
I'm wondering whats happening-
to you!

In the palm of my hand is you is me is you in me
I'm clenching my fist i will resist i cant believe that i am free
Cos nobody's home and nobody's gone
nobody's lost and nobody's won
I see your face i see the sun - i hear the drum beat stuck on one

Stuck on one
stuck on one
yeah stuck on one
prodigal son
a fractured beat running down the street
running miles ruining smiles
my feet are taken away
taken away
taken away

yeah yeah yeah

In the palm of my hand is you is me is you in me
I'm clenching my fist i will resist i cant believe that i am free
Cos nobody's home and nobody's gone
nobody's lost and nobody's won
I see your face i see the sun - i hear the drum beat stuck on one

Stuck on one
stuck on one
yeah stuck on one
You're a prodigal son
a fractured beat running down the street
running miles ruining smiles
my feet are taken away
taken away
taken away

But i'm here to stay!
