Peasants And Soldiers Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Peasants And Soldiers

We remained slaves for centuries
Suffered and underwent miseries
The motherland was never the same
It cried under occupation and shamed

Yes, peasants and soldiers
Both are very dear
But when comes to defend the motherland
Everything becomes secondary at the end

India never attacked neighboring countries
But suffered humiliation from enemies
Even today we are licking our wounds
No honorable way is found

How can one neglect countries defense?
When enemy has surrounded us from all sides
County needs preparedness and self reliance
Strong country is needed at present

No doubts” the farmer is called of universe”
The safety of motherland is fir priority of course
The imperialists are playing cat and mouse game
But we too can’t act as holy cow and blame others

Our own people lead and rule motherland
They have taken us to dead end
Who can say firmly that they are committed to cause
We need to ponder over issue and pause for a while
