Pedestrian Poem by Miranda Redden

Pedestrian

Rating: 5.0

You know I exist
I can see you shake your head and sigh
As you watch me break your rules
They mean nothing to me
I will die in the same condition I came in
I just need to get to where I am going
And I need to get there fast.

I know they exist
Your rules and your government funded projects
The poorly made overpass
Gives me temporary shelter
As I wade through the flood
And use the lane for those fools paying their taxes
They get stuck in the flood,
They get stuck in the traffic

Me?
I just need to get to where I am going
And I am getting there fast.
