Penitent Poem by Je'free Y .

Penitent

I take a fall from grace
Not for stagnancy.

A man with much more than feet
Traverses boundaries
On to a higher ground.

Some deeds stab my conscience
As they push me toward salvation.

I find another old self of mine
Abandoned, a new self
Thrilled by the next dimension.

Sins can not be unconfessed.
They will rape you repeatedly.

Gate of Heaven is always open.
I wish the foolish others
Whose backs face it will turn
Around, find the welcome sign.

I am a prayer who never ages.
Every bead of the rosary
Reverses time.

Pay the price until I have sold
Everything I stole.
That was what the wise man
Whispered to me.

I can see Your windows
Casting a bright light.
No one is ever too late
While one breathes.
All it takes to find home
Is to be lost in one's way.
