People Crave Heroes Poem by Raymond Farrell

People Crave Heroes

People crave heroes
To worship
So much so that
They have cheapened heroism
To the point
Where those in sports
And other forms of entertainment
Are turned into heroes
Can anything be less heroic?
Than multi-million dollar ballplayers
Going on strike
For more money
While people are starving
Halfway around the glob
