People often ask of me:
‘What does it take to
write a good poem? ’
‘Inspiration’, I avow,
without hesitation

It stands to reason
If one has a bright idea
Write it down at once
But, if one has to ‘mull’
over it - forget it
It wasn’t worth it
in the first place

And, never start with the thought that
‘I’m absolutely brilliant!
I write wonderful phrases
I could handle this in one sec...”

You might believe so
But,
don’t be so sure
