People Without Worries Poem by Francis Duggan

People Without Worries

People without worries to say the least rare
As many in their lives have some cross to bear
Money cannot buy happiness ask the millionaire
Many of the financially well off too are burdened by care
People without worries are as rare as hen's teeth
And feel lucky if one just by chance you do meet
The happiest people not entirely carefree
'Tis quite human to feel sad occasionally
Success and happiness so many pursue
But life's not meant to be easy happens to be true
Though on average the woman by a few years does outlive the man
Three score and ten years the average human life span
With life's not meant to be easy I for one do agree
And I've yet to meet one who is truly carefree.
