Perhaps Poem by Fritzie Abella

Perhaps

Rating: 5.0

Perhaps someday you will learn...

That to love is to love yourself first;
That smiles come after aches and tears;
That worrying won't make things right
and regrets will keep you from living your life.

That inner peace is wealth;
That beauty is a gift and a curse;
That wisdom outlives you and me
and success entails pleasing personality.

That real friends won't judge you,
but will remind you to know better next time;
That through compromise,
even enemies can turn into allies.

That winning is not all that matters.
Learn to humble yourself.
That failures are proof that you're not a quitter;
That fame can be intoxicating,
but do not forget your humble beginnings.

That love is the greatest equalizer.
It transcends the illusion of forever.
That hatred cripples and belittles you,
while forgiveness widens your reach.

That hope is priceless and free,
but false hope comes with a price to pay.
That trust is security.
But trust is earned, not claimed forcibly.

That farewell forces you to live outside your box.
But in every goodbye, you grow. So let go!
That change can be frightening,
but sometimes, fear can be life changing.

That people come and go,
and relationships fall apart.
So keep a part of yourself!
Remember: You are beautiful.
No matter what!

That waiting is not at all discouraged.
However, there are things and persons worth waiting for,
and there are those worth giving up.
Knowing who, what or when to give up
makes all the difference.

That sometimes, promises are sugarcoated lies.
Nevertheless, you believe
and you expect.
All in the name of love.

That tomorrow is uncertain, unknown.
So live in your today's comfort zone.
Nevertheless, dare to dream!
No matter how far the future may seem.

That time is fleeting before your eyes.
You think you have forever.
But sometimes, 'forever' ends
before it actually starts.

So if you have a loving word to say,
say it now!
Don't wait after death
had deviously stolen your chance.

That sometimes you wander,
but only to come back home.
Because at the end of the day,
home is where you belong.

That life is full of complex ironies,
but lessons are learned along the way.
That you and I co-exist.
Sooner or later, we're bound to the grave.

But for now we live with hope unfailing;
we love with trust undivided;
we stand by our faith, our creed.
In war there's a glimpse of peace,
because in the end...
Love wins. Love endures all tests.
