Permanent Rest Stop Poem by Alexander Ritchie

Permanent Rest Stop

On the side of cars stream
My little bud, sight unseen

I'm the same, you see
but I'm different
cause i'm me

I wait patiently
No photography
Surrounded other deemed, state-ly

Even fewer know my name
On the sidelines,
my fate remains

Story untold by Attenborough
Hope is a luxury, I let it go

Embrace this darkness
Myself I think

Passersby take no note
not a blink

My only hope now the Ginyu Force
We pose at Walmart, Fates course

Something changes, I dare not think
I'm pulled from ground, with a wink

Once survived, Now alive
My raggedness is now prized

Leaving the roadway
You made me free
You picked the wildflower, that is me.
