Permanent Stains Poem by Sandra Poindexter

Permanent Stains

Rating: 5.0

One cannot feel another's pain
Their tears frozen in place
Upon the unseen space
Beneath permanent stains
Shoulders once full of strength
Now weighted down with misplaced dreams
Encumbered by things, THINGS, THINGS
That rob of hope and faith and peace
One cannot feel another's pain
For what remains are
Those with tears frozen in place
Upon the unseen space
Beneath permanent stains
