Persephone Poem by Gabrielle Martin

Persephone

Rating: 4.0

Also Kora,
Proserpina,
Spring.

Hades cried out 'Love! '
Demeter, from the kitchen
to the Garden bed
yelled out 'Daughter! '

With her hands grimy
with soil, with toil,
she liked to believe
she could answer to
'Soul.'

But it was a name only
the whistling grains knew,
and one even they
(in the winter)
could not recall.

Loved the Abduction & Underworld reference that was inherent.... I must confess that for those not-so-up-to-date on Norse Mythology might find this a hard pill to swallow. Just mentioning Keep up the Good work :)
