Perseverance Personified Poem by keith brown

Perseverance Personified

Perseverance personified

He was nigh on invisible, as he traversed the sea green mat
In fact you'd never have seen him, save for the load upon his back

He stumbled once, he stumbled twice!
Each time he regained his prize
A garibaldi biscuit crumb a least ten times his size

He toiled on across the mat, to the edge where it met the grass
Of that Garibaldi biscuit crumb I thought I'd seen my last

To my surprise, nay!
Say, I was amazed as that Garibaldi biscuit crumb
Traversed every blade

Perseverance personified, work ethic supreme
He toiled on through the grass until no longer seen

Then as I sat and pondered, this lesson I must grant
To a Garibaldi biscuit crumb and a tiny sugar ant.
