Persuasion Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Persuasion

Persuasion

I was raised as person
To love and to respect
All people and nations
Regardless of cultures.

I am told, demanded:
"Open door to all guests,
Close eyes to their race
Also, their age, gender."

Once the Fox and Bear,
Came, blamed each other
For the wars and murders,
Lack of oil and Ukraine.

I sat and kept silent:
"Russians are criminal,
Kill Putin by boycott
For act of genocide."

I observed the news
Of buildings, streets,
A Meyer half-buried,
One tied hand on belly.

Neither side talked logic,
Just blamed, added heat!

Most of the warmongers,
Arms makers, arm dealers,
Secretaries, presidents,
Ran the show, but others
Were thrown in the hell.

Busy with oil, burning,
Ignored are the active
Polymers, plastics.

Vehicles, most machines,
And items using chips
Consume oil for being!
