Petra: Number Theory

You'd think the pages of Petra
were written from the bottom up.

The start of the first one, maybe;
but smudges,
aka falling rocks and grit everywhere,
soon had carvers starting from the top,
calling themselves authors,
what they were doing writing,
their tools pens,
chasm walls pages,
and starting another one
adding to the book.

There's a number at the bottom of each page,
if you care to take a look.
