Picture In My Mind Poem by deepthi mallampalli

Picture In My Mind

What is life without that love?
That very vague smile to cherish
Or maybe, those few words he spoke
To hear them again my heart is ready to perish
What’s life without those eyes?
Which I seem to recollect all the time
Their depths haunt me each day
Even, every waking hour of mine
That face I see deep in my mind
Reminding me all those dreams
Of clouds and birds and moon I saw
Shining right across the stream

His picture I’m not able to remove
However hard I try
It remains there all the time
Even when my eyelids collide
I try; I try to stop these thoughts but what do I do
With a difficulty they tend to cease
One stops with another new
These thoughts I carry all day long
Along with that silly smile of mine
Presence of mind and other thoughts of mine; seems
Long ago I left them behind

His presence I feel with me all time
With all so still and no sound
Or; the first rays of the sun are yet to be touched
In my mind his thoughts are already found
I start seeing things
Like love in the air
Everyone around me seem so happy
And every wrong thing starts looking fair
Peace of mind long ago I lost
With him invading each and every dream
But deep within I definitely know
This too will fade away like every other fancy and whim
