Pierce The Veil Poem by Alex Lane

Pierce The Veil

I try to have faith but there's so much that I can't do
love is a gun but I never learned how to shoot
I don't know how to live but I follow each day through
well you try to put it right but it all comes back on you
I suppose that's the way it has to be
I don't pray for change or ask for mercy
I don't even want anyone to rescue me
Don't even need to be redeemed

I was forsaken by the ones I tried to save
and where they buried the feelings was a shallow grave
and I walk into the distance
I depart into the night
you watched as I vanished
into the fading light
an era
a whisper
unfolding so swiftly
the golden age was over all too quickly
and I witnessed the power
I witnessed the glory
now i am called to witness
the end of this story.

This is about giving up on trying to be a friend to a person who refuses to recognise their drug problems.
