Pinnochio, The Sequel

the Blue Fairy with her wand touches all the
wooden toys in sight and
they coo with delight

we are alive
and wink and blink and spin their colours
till they are out of sight on the way to

Happiness Castle, long may it last..

but I among them sit in the roadway still
still fasting, weak and unbendable
and cry where is my alibi; I have none.

nor bread. nor anywhere to run

so beaten and so tried.
and, azure as she was,
and glittering, notwithstanding I-

I cannot fly.
