Pioneer Town Poem by Juan Olivarez

Pioneer Town

I was so happy to see Pioneer Town,
All of the names there, I'd heard before.
I grew a big smile, without making a sound,
As I walked the streets full of western lore.

Trigger and Roy, Champion and Gene,
They all roamed these dusty western streets.
It was like an old western that I'd never seen,
And I felt that my life was finally complete.

All these old buildings I saw as a child,
And dreamed of a shoot-em-up with bad guys.
Back in the days when the west was wild,
And the prettiest things were Gail Davis's eyes.

In the old bowling alley I had a few beers,
Where the ' king of the cowboys' rolled out the first ball.
The wall full of pictures from over the years,
Nostalgia so thick, I could taste it all.

The Pioneer Town Posse put on a great show,
Shooting their six guns all over the place.
I felt so sad when I had to go,
And leave Pioneer Town's western embrace.

thank you Diego and Mercedes for this wonderful experiance.
