Pittock Mansion In Portland Poem by Prafulla Sahu

Pittock Mansion In Portland

Pittock Mansion in Portland

The stump city, the rose city
The greenest Portland of Oregon
On its west dwells the ocean blue,
on its east, mountains green
Sits on the Columbia and Willamette rivers.

Pittock Mansion, the French renaissance chateau style house that stands
1000ft above sea level read and writ the history of Portland
Now draws a panoramic view of Portland Downtown
Amidst trees tall and flowers red and purple dangling from the stems of plants,
The thrill of birdwatching keeps the visitors
On wings to chirp and sing in their sky of mind-s-eye

No stumps to pass dump woods-passes now,
But roses pervade both sides of city roads.

The pines and maples guide all along many bends and curves to the point
On the nature's subway i found no cowherd boy but the node of His flute swept me past
The rustling leaves as sweet as Banshuri (flute) lifted my spirit up above the chaos of life

Some minutes stay in the laps of green silence
Enough to dive into the shade of meditation.

The longer you stay, the wiser you become
The longer you sense the solitude,
The purer the tide
From Muse does come.
