Places With Such Beautiful Names Have Endured Such Atrocities

[to William Blake and the Space Program]

places with such beautiful names have endured such atrocities
I heard the angels chained complain complain
and not unto their lutes of fire.

it is the inward love that I desire cried Jehovah
into His new handkerchief of the somber, silken skies
while over the earth with a myriad surprise

the sunrise rose and rose and rose
dazzling the astronauts.
