Play A New Song Or Lets Change The Music (Mr Mahakul) Poem by Jacson Gelato

Play A New Song Or Lets Change The Music (Mr Mahakul)

Somewhere, sometimes, an old musician
must stop blowing his trumpet
as his lungs are weak and his throat is sore
but addiction makes him feel he can still
make the summer blues vanish with his trumpeting.
When old is will and way, when old is age and sway
go dear poet go and find a rest so that others can play
a better song than you, a better melody than you.
Your trumpet is so rustic and your mind is so tired,
will you please exit and let the young muscians take over
or will you all oldies play your rangtang
and feel the PH ballroom with boredom?
You and your orchestra of drummer Dallip,
crooner Vielsa, rapper Mishara and Café Koffi Day
and all the others who hate the truth please
listen and stop your rattles and battles
to put the thunder of truth in the ocean below?
I am here to ask the Country Music to play a new song.
