Playground Poem by L.T Sanders

Playground

Rating: 5.0

I have been stuck in the same spot for too many years.
Cursed with the responsibility of overhearing broken dreams and fears.
I’ll never criticize because happiness and fun is always here.
So why do you sit with me and talk about killing you piers?
Destroying my foundation with spray painted tattoos and empty bottles of beer.
You can’t handle the frustration, so you come to me to ease the pain
and wipe away the tears.
Can’t you see that I m tired from all of the destructive years? Seeing young boys get shot down making peace with they’re last prayers.
Just to win a term I’m getting false hopes from the Mayor.
I’ve seen it all and I know as far as the future, we are truly not prepared.
I’ve seen many live and I’ve seen many die.
I’ve seen a mother beat her son’s chest screaming to the lord why?
The echo got louder with every echoing cry.
I am sorry to say I’ve seen the suicide of a bride.
Sometimes I can still see her white dress and beautiful eyes.
See she stepped on the third rail over a cheating guy.
But I couldn’t give her no sympathy who am I.
Just games and jokes forced to see the devil’s lies.
I say it again I never criticizes.
I Just want to see you happy don’t want to see you cry.
After all your local urban playground is the answer to who am I.

This is a very interesting poem to read. It highlights alot of social problems in society. I guess we are all a product of our surroundings and all the problems we have to face. I hope you enjoy your local urban playground. Nice poem.10/10.
