Pleasant Forty [quatrains] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Pleasant Forty [quatrains]

1. Invocation to God
It sweetens much to reach the feet of triple-eyed Lord Siva.
It gladdens to worship the ripe old wreath
wearing Lord Thirumal. It is delightful to pray
before the four-faced Lord Pramma.

The Book
2.Learning is delightful even by begging to eat.
It is pleasant to help in the congregation
of the erudites. The words of the pearl-teethed women
are amusing. It is cheerful to get the support of the great men.

3.It is gratifying for the wealthy to give the poor.
Life is lovely if the husband and wife
go together by heart. If their minds go apart
It is fair to desert this temporal life and the two desires.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
