Please Don't Go Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Please Don't Go

The day you told me
that you had to leave.
My word was turned upside down
by the blow that I received.

You looked me in the eyes
and told me not to cry.
You promise you will be back
but that just sounds like a lie.

The time spent with you
I will keep them very close.
It is hard to accept this
but I know you took this oath.

As we kiss goodbye one last time
the heartache only grows.
I will put on a brave face,
but on the inside
I'm begging you not to go.
