I did not cry
When they hurled
Words sharp and pointed
I simply hide from world
I did not cry
When my emotions bleed,
I rather drew into myself
Unwilling to be freed
I did not cry
As a man should never cry
Tears are symbol of fear
I kept my eyes always dry
I did not cry
I simply hide my emotions
Behind all those shouts, yells, profanity
Drunkenness and absurd aggression
Even when my girl said of parting
I made peace with my heart
Was shattered, hurt, bruised,
But I did not wept
All the emotions held up in me
For years and years
Made my identity as a man
Someone without emotions and fears
I just want you to say
It’s just okay for a man to cry
I just want to let go all the emotions
Don’t wipe my tears dry..
I just want to be alive again
Want my macho image to be washed away
I want to get rid of these years of pains
Please, say me to cry…

Shedding tears does not make one weak or a coward, it's a natural process of healing. When tears are shed the emotion or feeling producing them are also shed. It's a lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned with good rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
