Plunging. Poem by Kim Dang

Plunging.

Rating: 5.0

Moist knees kicking under flowing sheets
Ruffling the dull sound of flapping material against our own wind
My long hair gently parted amongst searching fingertips
Fragile trembles reassured with a firmness like ivy observant
to my curving hesitations

We coordinate our trust around boundaries of slumberland's make believe Swapping glances / gaps revealed / pursed lips protected during daylight's presence
Dancing along to forbidden tunes but such mores can't touch us in dreams

Like a dreidel against hardtop floors the wooden pressure
spiraling consistently - a repetition desired
Sounds colliding painting beautiful illusions covering our walls
moonlight being our sole witness to the guilty mess of tangled limbs
And I'm playfully clinging to your shoulders as I do to your promises

Suddenly, a devastating plunge, we collapse like skeletons
Cushioning each blow of insecurity with our raw vulnerabilities
Unapologetic flaws were flaunted but unquestionably accepted
Because it doesn't matter. A moment ago we were both 10 feet off the ground.
