Poem Asked Me ~ Pitala Me Pjesma

Poem asked me:

"What's flowing in your veins?
You were a brilliant wave of what
it breaks down the seafront."

I closed my eyes and said:

"There's red wine in my veins
to warm the frozen soul,
and the stone fence of the bay,
and on it dried fig
to wake up a sleepy body,
for the eyes to see
the quiet, sandy beach."

Pitala me je pjesma

"Šta teče u tvojim venama?
Bio si blistavi talas što
razbija morski sprud."

Zatvorih oči i rekoh:

"U venama mi je crno vino
da ugrije smrznutu dušu,
i kamena ograda morske uvale,
na njoj osušene skokve
da probude pospano tijelo,
da oči vide tihu, pješčanu plažu.
