Poem For Lyle Poem by TracyLee Eckstein

Poem For Lyle

A little more about me
My name is Tracy-lee
I am poetry
Searching for a rhythm derived from a beat
I begin my journey, I begin to seek

Upon my journey I stumbled again and again and again
I wanted to give up and put an end to this journey
I encountered too many unpleasant confrontations with pain
I was convinced that no rhythm would complement me.

I want Similes:
Like the sun setting in my world as I watch the glow
Of adoration in your eyes as a slumber I go.
I want Metaphors:
The glow in your eyes is the sun in my world;
You are the axis which my world
Will forever twirl around
For it is the sound of your voice that makes my world pleasant.

Finally finding
What I had been searching
for
Someone I adore.
The reason previously suffered pain was worth it
If I could go back, I would anticipate it,
For the smile that makes my world ok
For those long awaited words you mean when you say
- 'I love you'; 'I'm here for you'
For everyday you tell me I'm beautiful
For the way you hold me,
Kiss me,
Tease me,
Please me,
Promised you'd never leave me,
For the that fact that your heartbeat
Is the rhythm to my poetry.

Now I have the rhythm I searched for
The rhythm I adore
I gave this rhythm a try, now I cannot get enough
Constantly seeking more
On a daily basis, I need this rhythm I adore
One day without it is far too tough
I need that scent, my senses eliminated
Now I'm far too tempted
Just a gentle brush against my lips,
I need the taste, I cannot resist,
I demand, I insist,
Please I cannot endure
This torture any longer
I'm hyperventilating, I cannot breathe,
Its difficult to speak,
This is a need
I need the feeling
Of the tingling sensation
Down my spine
The essence of temptation
Without it, it’s frustrating,
Hair pulling, wall climbing,
INFURIATING!

As beads of perspiration
Ooze through my pores
I'm at the essence of hyperventilation
I cannot survive without the affection
Of the heartbeat
That’s the rhythm
To my poetry.

Narcotics have never passed these lips of mine,
It will never be a necessity
For all the ecstasy
I NEED
Is marrying me.
