Just two years ago one night I met you
When you looked so mysterious and new.
With Time's course you came too close to my heart
And gradually stole my mind and heart.

O my darling! you spent much time with me
And every time you made me so happy
In my sad times you were my only friend
In my happy days I'd share what I gained.

Working hard when I would face weariness,
You would try to make me lively and fresh.
Whenever I'd look at your charming face,
You'd make me happy and bring the world close.

O my dear! now you're far away from me
But you'll stay always in my memory.
