Poem No: 42. The Day Was O'er; The Night Was Approaching. Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

Poem No: 42. The Day Was O'er; The Night Was Approaching.

The day was o'er; the night was approaching.
To their nests the birds were then returning.
I was lone at the sea beach at twilight
Watching the sea- beauty in the vague light.

The sea was slowly becoming restless,
Waiting for seeing her beloved's face.
The gentle wind was blowing with humming
And asking me, 'For whom are you waiting? '

I remained silent for a while and said,
' Yonder, my Love is now on the sea bed.'
Just then you came to me like a fairy
To caress my heart by embracing me.

When I feel lonely, thus you come to me
To calm my tensed mind and make me happy.
