Poet must
On the run saw the ghosts
-screamed on the road:
- "We were once alive and
-lived very high, above
-the hand-reach of you, all…"
I listened as do birds
-to the worms when it rains.
And heard the:
- "We were leaves on trees
-had life, danced in the wind
-each with song, willed to sing."
As normal, sympathised
-and gave them all my heart:
- "…now dead and on ground…
-are ignored and walked on, …
-over-run by the rude, brutal…
-wind, breeze, and tires of the cars…
-brainless, are taken, occupied…
-all of them; as are the hungry…
-shameless gusts…"
So, I did poets' must! ! !
