Poetry And Me Poem by Marie J. Christopher

Poetry And Me

I have longed to compose poetry to condense my love,
All my love into the most beautiful expressions for God.
I used to wish I was the second David, whose all love songs are inspired lauds.
Saddened, time after time, I have thrown my poetic writings away,
Right after I had finished,
For it is impossible for me to describe my love for Him in earnest;
For all enkindlement, He only knows, He already knows, and knows more than I myself
How can I describe my heartbeats
Of which all motions, to the Maker, their vibrations entreat.
With all heartbeats, I have loved Him for He had first loved me,
With an unconditional and boundless love.
I truly believe my poetry, even never materially written to my Beloved,
Was constantly recited by Him, Him alone, for it is written in my heart.
They are my most secret and gentlest thoughts,
Which are to be shared to Him as alone, Him all my life my soul has sought.
They are thoughts from a simple child,
Who walks hand in hand with his Heavenly Father in a glorious garden.
His gaze is full of loving adoration; his smile is glistened,
Beamed with happiness, his being is totally captured.
Thus, everything, anything he says is treasured, beatified,
By the love of the Father God, and all his unwritten poetry is thus eternalized.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(This evening I've just found my old meditation on my desire to write poems. The essence of my meditation is captured here. I decide to keep on writing and posting my poetry here for few friends to view. For there is no reason not to. If you object them, I am truly sorry and no more debate for me; just the love of God and of His people in poetry are in my heart. I continue to enjoy your works. Thanks in advance for reading mine. No more Madeleine for me please, I just love poetry.)
