Poetry In Yellow (Free Verse) Poem by Dorian Petersen Potter

Poetry In Yellow (Free Verse)

Beneath the radiant sunshine
There's a pot
Revolvin' of gold...
Somewhere
With garlands of hearts' laces
Giving and streaming of
Love...
I've known beauty
I've known love
Sorrows and pain
As well...
Seeds producing blooms...
Spring sprouting with
Roots
For in my very eyes
Their most precious
Fruit of labor to
Show...
Conceive...
With
Orchids and irises
and roses in full
Bloom
Facing down tall grasses
Of yellows and greens...
Bands of seagulls
Lined up high up
towards
Sailing boats and
Ships
Making
Slowly their
Way
Beneath choppy
Waters of
Emerald sea
In the distance
An old lighthouse
Still flickers
With 'hope'
Under all the darkness
And chaos
Of the world
I can see
Beneath the surface
Of money and
cold diamonds...
And all the
glitter
Of man's
Power... and
Greed
