You raise a good point here. I believe those of us who make the effort and take the time to express our feelings through poetry are being truthful. Our emotions are so strong we know we must find a special way to tell our story. Our mind helps us choose the most appropriate words to do this. Sometimes we just can't find the right words, but we struggle on. Poets are honest people.
