I read this version of THE POEM three times, and an image grew clearer in my mind with each reading: namely, the Ouroboros, the serpent biting its own tail, which symbolizes various meanings: the flow of time, or ETERNITY, or
the oneness of all being. I'm not saying YOU intended the Ouroboros, it is just part of a complex of meaning your
creatively flexible poem expresses. This poem satisfies me intellectually and emotionally. It's if you are declaring: POETRY is really big, and there is a niche for you and your poems. All of us belong.
