Pointless Arguments Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Pointless Arguments

Wishing and hoping to be together for an eternity,
holding one another closely, afraid to breathe too
hard as it may push us too far apart.
Touching sensitively, inner portions of an eternal
love, feeling it's powerful insistence holding on
through the ages.
Fulfilling emotional depths with hugs and kisses
throughout years of sacrifice.
Pointless arguments are forgotten as quickly as
they arrive, never letting the sun set without
forgiving one another before going to bed.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When we were married thirty-seven years ago, the priest who married us gave us this advice: Never go to bed angry. We
never have and are still close as ever.
