Police Atrocity: Massacre In Tuticorin Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

Police Atrocity: Massacre In Tuticorin

silent protest to cull evils in hearts,
planted across at London in charts,
coughing winds congest noses and throats,
Look! bribing men live in lands of Lords,

most hands of the ruling dirtied with dollars,
never brought home but in the vault of cellar,
the thirst and hunger remain constant in paper,
Look! evil in men control the possession of paupers,

thousands died of cancer; the rest await for their turn,
the corals in sea eat heavy metals to have the tan,
effluent from dividend paying entities pant and rant,
Look! the men in power jackets fly and flaunt,

ninety nine days of protecting to have their city,
devoid of pollutant of various colors and kind,
men, women and children gathered with hope,
Look! none from the top had time to say 'Hello'

on hundredth day, poor peasants, workers and students,
had the slow march in the direction of district office,
carrying their lunch boxes in hands and trust in heart,
shouting aloud 'Ban sterlite" and many other slogans,

Police arrived in the vans and stopped with abusive signs,
the peaceful protestors became angry to be violent,
pushed the barricade to assault the friends of people,
panic grew in every mind, suddenly heard the sound,

thirteen were shot dead and many dozens injured and bled,
authoritative police took their batons to beat and suppress,
the will to have their peaceful and clean seaside back,
public ran for their life and hid in their locked homes,

who ordered the firing? no one knows!
who actually fired and killed? no one knows!
what happened to PM Modi? no one knows!
all representatives keep mum and sing peace songs!

the massacre in coastal town of Tuticorin,
where the corrupt have met the corrupted,
to produce the new waves of pollutants and poison,
Men may fail and fall, but we will not leave it to rest..
