A breeze gently kisses my face
As I stand silently in an empty place
Words remembered drift across time
Memories of them that were mine
A sea of faces all looking down
As a smile slowly and silently is so profound
For in passing they have been made whole
Each a guiding light reflecting their soul
Their duty done and we remember them
For whom against old age they need not defend
We rise on this our Remembrance Day
Faithfully recalling memories that do not fade away.
