Poppies In The Sun Poem by james watkin

Poppies In The Sun

Fair, they push up; frailly pivot;
Pert, in their girlish play.
Flashing back to what, full-faced
Elated smiles their way.

A torrid air, round about
This alcove is heard:
"Bends which weak-stemmed concubine
Of our sultan preferred? "
