Please, I wish you could stay.
I don't know you very well
Though I wish that weren't so.
I wonder why you never called.
Why you didn't visit us
Even when you were so close.

I wish I had the time
To ask you all these questions.
But I'm afraid that I won't.
I know you're tired of fighting,
And it saddens me
That I never got to know you.

Poppop, I wish you could stay
I wish I could take away the hurt.
I hope I'll get to see you soon.
I pray that you'll make it through,
But I know that it would be selfish,
When you want to go, you're so tired.
